Dr. E. Michael Harrington is a Berklee Online course author and instructor with a background in music copyright and intellectual property matters. He has worked as a consultant and expert witness in hundreds of music copyright matters involving the likes of the Dixie Chicks, Keith Urban, Snoop Dogg, Lady Gaga, and many more. In a recent CD Baby DIY Musician Conference session titled What Is Copyright, and What Do I Have a Right to Copy?, Dr. Harrington answered all of the questions that will keep you out of court when you’re paying homage to another artist, and provided the info you need if you think somebody has unlawfully lifted your melody.

Dr. Harrington currently teaches the undergraduate level course Music Licensing and the graduate level course Music Business Law at Berklee Online.
